Emily and Jason had been inseparable since college. Their love story was one of those fairy-tale romances—late-night calls, surprise weekend getaways, and promises whispered under the stars. But nothing lasts forever… and neither did their love.
Jason had started acting strangely. Distant. Cold. He barely spoke to Emily anymore. He refused to go out at night, and he would wake up screaming, drenched in sweat.
“Jason, please. Talk to me,” Emily begged one night, reaching for his trembling hand.
Jason yanked his hand away. “You wouldn’t understand.”
But Emily wasn’t the kind to give up.
The Weekend Escape
Determined to rekindle their love, Emily planned a surprise trip to a cozy cabin near Hollow Creek. It was the perfect romantic getaway—crackling fireplaces, scenic hiking trails, and no cell service to distract them.
At first, Jason seemed… normal. He even smiled.
“You really think this can fix us?” he asked, squeezing her hand.
Emily smiled back. “It’s a start.”
For a moment, she felt hope.
Then the whispers started.
The Dark Secret
It was subtle at first—just a faint voice drifting through the trees at night.
Then… it grew stronger.
“Emilyyyyyy….”
Emily bolted upright in bed. Jason lay next to her, his breathing shallow, his body stiff.
“Jason…?” she whispered, shaking him.
His eyes snapped open. But they weren’t his eyes.
They were black. Hollow.
“He doesn’t belong to you anymore,” a voice that wasn’t Jason’s rasped.
Emily stumbled backward, her heart hammering in her chest. “W-what?”
Jason—or whatever was inside him—sat up, tilting his head unnaturally. “He made a deal. He’s ours now.”
Emily gasped as the cabin filled with shadows, the air growing thick and suffocating. The whispers turned into laughter—mocking, chilling.
Love Turns to Terror
“Jason, please fight this!” she cried.
He grinned, but his lips stretched too far, revealing teeth that weren’t human. “Jason is gone.”
A cold hand gripped her wrist.
Emily screamed.
But then… a voice inside her head whispered: "Call upon the Light."
She didn’t know why, but she obeyed.
“In the name of the Light, RELEASE HIM!” she shouted, her voice shaking.
A blinding glow burst from her hands, engulfing Jason.
He shrieked, his body convulsing as the darkness peeled away from him, screaming in agony before vanishing into the night.
Jason collapsed into her arms, gasping for air.
Emily held him tightly. “You’re safe now,” she whispered.
The cabin fell silent. The air felt lighter.
Epilogue: A Love Restored
Jason finally told her the truth—he had dabbled in forbidden rituals out of desperation, trying to gain wealth, power… anything to keep Emily from leaving him. But the price had been his soul.
But love had saved him.
They left Hollow Creek that night, never looking back.
Jason vowed never to stray into darkness again.
And Emily? She had discovered something within herself—an unshakable faith in the Light.
Some loves are doomed.
Theirs was reborn.
